15 Simple Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Our Elf on the Shelf,  Gum Drop, is such a hit in my home. Every morning Neacel comes running down the stairs reminding me that we have to find Gum Drop. Moods have been better, listening has been amazing, and I will be extremely sad to see him leave. One thing I do is move him around the area the kids found him that morning...he might be found hanging on a picture, a couple of hrs later when kids are playing upstairs, I move him to the lamp. It helps that my oldest thinks he is moving around when we aren't looking. Neacel no longer thinks he is fake...thank goodness for the movie Toy Story! I will admit, when 11pm rolls around and I haven't thought about what Gum Drop will do that night I want to throw a fit. It's late and I'm tired, I don't want to think of something clever at that point. Gum Drop showed up on the 1st of Dec during naps and has been a family friend since and I have been able to come up with some fun thing for him to do. Here is a little list of 15 simple ideas that we have done, or that I plan on doing:

1. Make North Pole brownies (add Christmas sprinkles) and egg nog to drink. It's Christmas time you know you can make some brownies quickly.

2. Have him write the kids a note. I did this after a horrible day. The note explained that Santa was sad and because they were naughty that they needed to do something nice for 2 people in order to get on the Nice list again. My oldest is coloring pictures for a friend and his Sunday school teacher...plus some cookies for them too. He has even talked about doing something nice for everyone he knows (YES! This mom is proud of that!)

3. Dye milk green. North Pole Elf Milk, of course its from North Pole cows

4. Hide him in the Christmas shelf display. I have a ton of Christmas things on a shelf, we just hid him and told the boys he is probably playing hide n seek

5. Draw on pictures with a dye erase marker.

6. Cut out snowflakes and hang them around the living room, or you can use extra Christmas tree ornaments.

7. Wrap pictures for Christmas. Glad the elf will do this and not me....sigh.

8. Snowball fight with action guys and barbies (mini marshmallows)

9. Bring special cups from the North Pole (.87 at Walmart, Christmas cups) fill with hot cocoa packets and marshmallows.

10. Snow Angel in powdered sugar

11. TP the Christmas tree (I can't wait for this one)

12. Red party streamers in front of their bedroom doors so they have to break through (Do on Christmas morning)

13. Roast marshmallows over a candle. (Obviously, roast when kids are sleeping keep on tooth pick and blow out candle. We don't want a fire!)

14. Red lipstick on noses while sleeping....you have been Rudolphed! Every participates, even you and husbands!

15. Empty ice cream container in the freezer, while the elf is sitting next to it with a spoon. Elves love ice cream!

These are simple oops I forgot ideas of mine. If you want to see what else I come up with follow me on instagram: MandyBurt86. I post my Gum Drop elf ideas everyday.
I love what Gum Drop has done to my kids so far and we still have about 2 weeks left with him. I think I need to come up with something for the rest of the year, maybe an angel?

Kids Drawing Key Chain

Your child's drawing on key chain for DAD.
via Formia Design by Mia Van Beek

I came across this on pinterest, and had to share it with everyone. Who wouldn't want a kids drawing on a key chain? It's the perfect gift for any family member. I know I would love for my husband to get one of these done. What a perfect way to keep a loved drawing with you for years. That first drawing that they are beyond excited to show you. The first one that they spent so much time on, just perfecting every little feature. If you get the drawing on a key chain, it can't get ruined like that paper that it was originally on. Now I'm all for original being best, but if the original was ruined, I would be heartbroken. So if you haven't found a Christmas present for your hubby, wife or grandparents, hurry and have your kiddo draw a picture and get this key chain ordered before it's too late!

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to take time to wish all of you a Merry Christmas! This Christmas is very special to me. Neacel knows and loves every minute of what is going on, and its Broden's "first" Christmas...last year he was only 6 weeks, this year he is destroying everything! I'm surrounded by family and I get to do what I have always dreamed of doing. Giving my mom this letter:

Dear Nana and Pops,

Merry Christmas!
We ordered you something very special for your Christmas gift. It's not here yet, and isn't scheduled to be here until mid August. Mommy and Daddy said it takes to long because it has to be made from scratch. They called it a custom order. We hope you like it. We have been saving up for it for a very long time. The delivery charge is really expensive, but we don't know why because it only weighs about eight pounds. Do you think we might be getting ripped off?
Anyway, we don't want to say too much because we don't want to spoil the big surprise. So go ahead and open your present. There's a hint waiting for you inside.

Love,
Neacel and Broden

In the bag is a picture of 5 pairs of shoes, the smallest being little baby booties.
If you haven't figured it out yet, we are expecting baby #3 in August! I have always thought it was adorable to announce a surprise pregnancy on Christmas, and have always dreamed that one day I could tell family on Christmas about a new little one. I have kept my mouth shut for about 3 weeks now, which if you know me, that's really tough to do. I'm hoping for a girl, but with 2 boys, I'm guessing its a boy!

Cookie Recipes!

I love Christmas time, I love everything about it. One of my favorite things is the excuse to bake way too much, and eat more sweets then you should. Thanksgiving is all about savory things, Christmas is about the sweet things! It just comes with the holiday, right? I wanted to share some of my favorite and simple recipes that I use constantly. A few recipes are on my to do list that I can't wait to make!

Chocolate Chip Cookies -honestly the best Chocolate Chip recipe we have found.

Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies -made these for the first time and love them!!!

Whatchamacallits -addicting! Watch out!

Sugar Cookies -can't go wrong with sugar cookies!

Microwave Peanut Brittle -simple and easy, and people think you spent a lot of time making it!

Peanut Butter Cookies -some people like plain, hubby likes them with Hershey kisses, I take them off.

Snickerdoodles -love love love.

Lace Cookies -childhood favorite.

No Bake Cookies - enough said!

Hello Dollies -my mom makes these all the time.

Gingersnaps -who doesn't love gingersnaps? Can't wait to make these.

Molasses Sugar Cookies- haven't tried them yet but they are on my list this year.

Wedding Cookies- soooo addicting, you can't eat just one or three, you want them all!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie -my favorite cookies in the world, one day I will make these.

What are some of your favorites? I would love to hear some new recipes. I love to bake cookies, even more now that hubby gave me an early Christmas present.....a cookie scoop! Cookies are fun to make and hand out to friends, (if you don't eat them all first) not to mention something easy to let the little ones help. What is your cookie list this year?

My Cents of Style Giveaway!

If your anything like me, you love Cents of Style products. They are cute, high quality, affordable accessories. Sounds nice huh? I have always loved Cents of Style, since I heard about it a few years back from some friends that always used it. I've been in love ever since then! Now all I need to do is win the lottery and buy each piece, each season and I'll never worry about accessories again!
Whit-gold

I have a few products from them, all jewelry, because a girl can never have too much right? My favorite is my feather earrings. They match everything, and dress things up that are a little too drab.

Also, if you want to go ahead and order somethings for Christmas use the code 0512 at checkout and get 10% off, not to mention shipping is always free! Can we say AMAZING! Great prices, great products, and free shipping! I know your already in love with them just like me!

Define Necessity

I have seen a lot of friends post this picture or one similar on their facebook. It really has touched my heart. Christmas isn't a time to spoil your children with an over abundance of gifts that will be tossed aside or broken within a month. Children need love, attention and comfort. In my family we do a money limit and age is a factor. My oldest is getting $50 worth of toys that he has picked out himself and we have hid, youngest is getting $35 worth of toys because we already own a ton and he is barely one and doesn't know or care about all of them. Hubby and I don't spend alot on each other also. I don't want to be in debt because of Christmas, I want to enjoy it and not see the bills later.

I don't want to come off as preachy or that I'm better because that isn't the case at all. I have a lot to learn about being a parent. I just am really taking the extra time to teach my oldest the true meaning. No matter what you believe, make sure you spoil your kids with love and attention and not toys.

To Do List

A friend of mine on the Cleveland Mommies site that I'm apart of (and you should be too or find your  local site with The Mommies Network) posted this the other day and I instantly fell in love with it. It's an article by Steph Fink

I am a “To Do” list-making lunatic. I’m not kidding. I’ve been known to make lists of the lists that I’ve wanted to write up. While my list-making “skill set” proved valuable to my family when we moved last year, it has been equally unhelpful in distracting me from the real meaning of Christmas. If not on guard, I can checklist the holidays like it's a race to "get through" Or, I can intentionally celebrate Christmas as God intended. So with an honest heart, I drafted an entirely new list, the “To Don’t List”.

-Facebook my friend - call instead!
-Wrap a gift with a rushed-negative heart!
-Eat a Christmas cookie alone, they're always sweeter with a friend!
-Fret over the Christmas letter, family picture and change of address cards. This year I made a joint Christmas greeting/change of address postcard.
-Be rude to the people that are in the Christmas postcard picture while addressing them to go out!
-Allow the person that stole my parking spot (the blinker told you it was mine!) to steal my joy. No, I'll confuse em'...I'll smile and wave like we're old friends (cause we would be if you’d stop stealing my spot!).
-Buy anything that I don't have enough money to.
-Forget the best present ever! No, not the Atari, Cabbage Patch Kid, leg warmers or my Kodak disc camera when I was a child. Jesus! Jesus’ birth, the life that gave me new life, hope and freedom to love the person who stole my parking spot!

This Christmas season, will you draft a new list…a “To Don’t” list, so your “To Do” lists don’t cram out the real reason for the season?

How amazing and TRUE is that article? Like Steph, I make a daily "To Do" list that hangs on the fridge where I see it a million times a day. It can be simple tasks, like remembering to put something in the mailbox, or get Christmas cards done. (which are still sitting in an unopened box). I'm going to do a "To Don't" list today and get it up with my other list.

So whats one thing on your "To Don't" list?

For me it would probably have to be, To Don't think about every little thing that would make this Christmas perfect, but to enjoy every moment with everyone around me. This Christmas is very special for me, Neacel is 3 and is old enough to start learning and understanding the true meaning. I love watching the boys as they get older, but I need to remember to stop and smell the air instead of stressing through it all.

Christmas Family Home Evening

In our family we take one night a week and really spend it with each other. We call it family home evening, a night to be a family with no distractions. No phones, computer or anything, just focused on spending time together. Sometimes there can be a lesson, other times it can be about whatever we feel we need to talk about. Sometimes it's as simple as watching a movie together with popcorn and blankets. Tonight we are going to go get new ornaments for the tree and make a gingerbread house. I'm thinking we will even read The Nutcracker. I really am trying to teach Neacel the true meaning of Christmas. That it isn't about the gifts and toys, candy sweets and parties. Its about Christ and his birth, about giving to others, being with family and helping those in need.

I really want my son to understand the true meaning. I don't want him to think its all about gifts. I had him pick out a present for Brother Broden, and I had Broden pick out one for Neacel. They will pick out a present for each of us, and will be the one to give it to that person. No middle man mom or dad on Christmas morning with those gifts. I think in the world now, kids just want want want this time of year. I have a 3 year old who says "I want that" with every toy commercial he sees. So tonight, I'm going to talk about giving to others. We will be baking cookies this week and give  them to neighbors and friends. It will be a simple lesson, nothing too much for his little brain to try and grasp. Just a simple, giving to others makes people happy. He will ask many questions and we will answer them. If the Salvation Army bell person is out at Target, even though we don't have it, we will give what we can because someone else needs it more then us. We gave our old kitchen table to a family that had nothing and I've tried to explain to Neacel that giving to others makes us feel better and makes them happy. He seems ok with the concept till its giving something he wants! He found a Christmas present of his the other morning and freaked out when I said it was for someone else...I don't want him to be like that. Yes, I know he is only 3, but if he can remember how to work DVR, cover his mouth when coughing and many other things, then giving to others should be a breeze!!!

This week, try and teach your little ones something special about this holiday season. If I hear "I want" out of Neacel's mouth anymore, I might cut the word out of the dictionary and burn it! Take that Webster!!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Tomorrow I will be posting a review and a giveaway!!! Stay tuned.

Video from Santa

This is a fun little thing that people like to do every year. You can make a Free Personalized Video from Santa for your kids, or for adults. Santa will say your name, (or my dear friend if the name isn't on the list) and even tell you if you have been naughty or nice. You can add pictures of the people he is talking about and answer some questions about the person the video is for. This comes out really cute, and something any child would love to recieve.

I just got done making mine for Neacel, I'm going to show it to him later tonight. Just something along the lines of "ummm Neacel, you have an email from the North Pole?" This will get his attention.

This is an adorable way to remind kids that Santa is watching you, and knows if they have been naughty or nice!!! It's all free and doesn't take long to put together!!

Gift Ideas for Boys 2011

Christmas is pounding on our door, I want to decorate but my sweet hubby won't let me. I wouldn't forget Thanksgiving, just enjoy the Christmas decorations a little longer. He still tells me NO and to wait till Saturday when we are back from my parents and Black Friday shopping. (yes I am a 2am crazy shopper) Shopping is tough when you factor in budget, ages, likes/dislikes and many other things. I struggle with my boys, mostly Broden because he can't tell me what he likes. Neacel on the other hand says "I want that" to every commerical, even if a girl toy, he will point out that there is a blue one. Smart boy, but wow I didn't think the "I want that" would start so soon! I've made a list of gift ideas for boys, from babies till around age 5. Some are for a little older but I tried to keep it geared more towards preschool aged. These are in no particular order, just random and ones that I really like and think other moms and dudes would too! Also, check out the best Black Friday website to see if something on your list is out there for cheap. I know Amazon has a lot of these items on sale right now...

Kre O Transofrmers, what more can a boy want? Transformers are big even my 3 year old claims he wants this. Daddy may have put that in his head though! Comes in 5 models BumbleBee, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Sentinal Prime. Perfect for ages 7-14
KRE-O Transformers - BUMBLEBEE

This is what Amazon says about this product:

This two-in-one KRE-O TRANSFORMERS BUMBLEBEE construction set lets you bring the popular character to life like never before. You can build your BUMBLEBEE character in robot mode and then use the very same bricks to reassemble him in vehicle mode. Also included are three poseable KREON mini figures to accompany 7- to 14-year-olds on whatever adventures they can imagine.

You can bundle 3 models on Amazon for only $94.10! Not a bad deal if you ask me!
Disney Pixar Toy Story 3 Interactive Buddies Talking Action Figures - 12 inch Buzz Lightyear & 16 inch Woody Set

What boy doesn't love Toy Story? Buzz Lightyear is a hero in our home. I think every boy who loves those movies (and yes the last one made me cry) should have a Buzz and Woody doll.

Amazon has the set for $128.99, not too bad if you ask me. They are interactive toys and Buzz stands 12 inches tall and Woody is 16 inches tall. Perfect pair for any Toy Story lover.

Amazon Product Description:

Buzz Lightyear and Woody are back from their owner Andy's toy box with our Toy Story Interactive Buddies Talking Action Figures - 12 inch Buzz Lightyear & 16 inch Woody Set, and just like in the movies, they banter and bicker just like real pals. Kids can choose between three different interactive modes to hear these buddies speak individually or with each other, using their actual voices from the movies. Between Buzz and Woody, the duo can say over 100 phrases, including lines from Toy Story and Toy Story 2, along with additional buddy interactions. 3 AA batteries and 3 AAA batteries required. Cars, another big hit in our home.

Neacel loves Mater and laughs at everything he says. I'll even admit that I find him funny and laugh at many things he says and does. This is a perfect toy for any Mater lover in your home. With lights and sounds every child will fall in love with this Mater. Mom might go nuts but thats ok if your son is having fun. Right? Of course there is other Mater toys, I really think the Bubble Mater is cute!

The manufacter says this:

Cars 2 Lights & Sounds Mater: Inspired by the new hit Disney/Pixar film, Cars 2. Fast-paced fun races into playtime with Lights & Sounds Mater. Bring Mater to life with this large scale 1:24 scale vehicle with realistic flashing LED lights and fun sounds & phrases straight from the film. Kids will love reenacting their favorite scenes from the movie with the Cars 2 1:24 Lights & Sounds Mater vehicle. Collect them all!

Cars 2 Lights & Sounds Lightning McQueenWe can't forget the star though, Lightning McQueen! Or as my son calls him Lightning DaQueen. Sorry Pixar, we will work on that one for you. This is the same exact thing as the Mater, of course there are a million Lightning McQueen toys out there. Here is a list of other Lightning McQueen toys, there is wall stickers, computers, V-Tech Learn n Go, Digital Camera, Flashlight and many more!

Playskool toys are so nice to have for younger kids with growing minds. I think the Alphie is a classic that every child needs. I'm thinking about getting it for Neacel this year. You know that you had one growing up, and its sooooo much fun to see your kids playing with the same toys that you did as a child. You can also purchase the Letters and Numbers Booster Packs for $8.01 each or bundle Alphie with both Boosters for only $46.01

Amazon says this about Alphie:

Who better to explore the world with than someone who’s new to it? This ALPHIE robot figure is on a “field trip” from his home planet and, with a kooky grin and funny faces, it’s his “mission” to introduce your child to learning. There’s practically nothing this little dynamo doesn’t want to “talk about” — from letter sounds and shape sorting to patterns, cause and effect, vocabulary development and much more, your ALPHIE figure is a whole big classroom in one little portable robot buddy. As his buttons light up, and as he “sings” and plays music, your child’s brain is stretching, growing and helping turn him or her into a super-duper learner and problem-solver. Educational fun on-the-go is as easy as can be, too, with this little guy’s handled noggin and storage spot for his cards in his backpack.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy
Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy. Perfect for that little one. I bought this for Broden, our 1 year old. It has plenty of sounds and will help him learn. I love toys that help children learn!

Amazon says this: The Laugh and Learn Puppy is a cuddly play pal for your baby that combines two modes of play - learning mode and music games - with 10 delightful songs. In Learning Mode, 6 hot spots on the puppy teach your child A-Z, body parts and colors through fun phrases and songs. Then, switch to Game Mode for fun phrases and songs, including the Alphabet Song, a color song, a counting song and a song that teaches body parts. In Game Mode, kids can also enjoy six additional songs that encourage interaction: Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone, Pat-a-Cake, This Little Piggy, This Old Man and Bingo. Provides hours of interactive enjoyment. Requires three "AA" batteries (included).

There is also the Laugh & Learn Dance and Play Puppy. Either one are a hit for younger boys(or girls). Perfect toy for growing baby minds.

Leap Frog Explorer comes in green and pink, but we are all about dudes here. Amazon carries it for $49.99, afforable plus if you have prime....free shipping! You little man will think he is getting away with playing video games, you will know that he is actually learning, and you can even check his progress! This is what Amazon says about the Leap Frog Explorer :

The Leapster Explorer Learning Game System from LeapFrog is an exciting, handheld gaming device that includes preset games and videos, and boasts plenty of downloadable features and cartridges. This durable handheld device for kids aged 4 to 9 years plays Leapster Explorer e-books, games, videos, and more. With the Leapster Explorer, kids practice a range of skills--from reading and writing to math and sciences--through play and entertainment.

And this is what they say about being able to montior progress (which is a big deal in my book). Be active in your child's learning by tracking her progress in specific games and subjects. When you connect the Explorer to your computer the first time, you'll set up a parent account that shows your child's progress in different learning touchstones and how much time she spends playing certain games. The Explorer's tracking feature automatically updates your child's progress whenever you connect the Explorer to your computer. This feature shows your child's strongest and weakest subjects, and you'll get to know your child's passions and preferences. This information will aid you in helping them cultivate strengths and improve weaknesses. And because the Explorer can hold up to three profiles, it can be used by the whole family.

To read everything about what Amazon wrote about this product go here. This is a perfect toy for any little man wanting to play video games. I know my 3 year old will be getting it this year from his Nana and Pops, my cell will be thankful!

I also love the Vtech Inno Tab Interacting Learning Tablet for a growing mind wanting to have a tablet like mommy and daddy.  It has great reviews and comes in pink too, but we like blue here!

Vtech - InnoTab Interactive Learning TabletAdapting the design of Mom and Dad's favorite touchpad devices, the VTech InnoTab Learning App Tablet helps your child take learning to the next level with one of today's most popular technologies. This multimedia tablet combines interactive reading, learning games, creative activities, and tools in a sleek and durable educational toy. Thanks to its 5-inch color touch screen and tilt sensor, kids ages four to nine can touch, flick, and drag their way to learning fun.

Matchbox Smokey the Talking Fire Truck! In my sons words "This toy is AWESOME!" Here is the product description: Get ready for hours of imaginative fun with Smokey the Fire Truck from Matchbox. With his ability to speak, sing, dance, and launch "water" balls, Smokey is a playmate that really interacts with your child during play. Whether putting out a fire together or learning a new song-and-dance routine, Smokey and your child will form a fun friendship and be ready for anything together.

And we can't forget his buddies, Stinky the garbage Truck and Rocky the Robot Truck. Any little dude would love one or all three of these. All of these would be a huge hit in my house, noise, singing, dance, and 3 of the sons favorites...dump truck, fire truck and garbage truck. They are around $50 each but you can bundle them on Amazon for only $147. Think Christmas this year, birthday and a present for someone other little dude.

Lego Duplo is perfect for the little dude that wants legos but you aren't quite sure if they are ready or if dady just put that in their head. Amazon carries many different sets. I love that they are for ages 18months-5 which means they are bigger and more sturdy for your little one. Less of a choking hazard compared to smaller Lego's....which we still love for older boys! Prices are between $20-$30 a set, affordable for any budget

LEGO Ultimate Building Set - 405 Pieces (6166)We of course can't and won't forget about the LEGO's for the older boys. I remember taking these from my brother growing up. I loved to build with them, they made nice Barbie homes. My brother would get so angry when I would loose some of them. Oops! How was I supposed to know that boys loved LEGO's so much? I learned by marrying my husband, who loves LEGO's. It doesn't matter that he is almost 30, he loves them, and gets a set/kit atleast once a year. It's truly an easy gift for boys, wether they are 5 or almost 30 it's a hit. When your toddler has graduated from the Duplo stage and is ready to take the next step in his, or her, Lego journey, the Lego Ultimate Building Set is the ideal graduation gift. With 405 pieces stored in a durable plastic box with a see-through top, this set is the perfect place to let children continue to explore their imagination and engineering skills. The Lego Ultimate Building Set contains many small pieces and is designed for kids ages four and older.

Fisherprice Imaginext Black and Red Pirate Ship with 2 FiguresFirst off let me start by saying Imaginex toys are wonderful! We bought Neacel a dragon last year, it has yet to break, get a scratch or anything. These things are built for your little guy to try and destroy. With that being said, I think an Imaginex Pirate Ship is perfect! Boys love pirates, it's a known fact! There is something about digging for treasure and finding gold that they can't resist. We will definitely be grabbing an Imaginex toy this year. Built to last without breaking the bank. I love that it's a toy that hasn't been trashed, the batteries have never been replaced and even my 1 year old likes it. Our Imaginex toy has been thrown down the stairs, into the toy box, hit with a gold club ( a kids one, but still impressive) and many other ways of a boy tourturing his toy, it hasn't broke. Thank you Imaginex!

Sesame Street Let's Rock Elmo, is one I thought should go on my list. All kids love Elmo, he is a big hit in any home. Each year it seems a new Elmo comes out around Christmas, so of course every kid wants him. Nothing like a singing Elmo on Christmas morning.
Amazon Product Desciption says it best though:

Elmo is a big hit with little ones everywhere. The LET'S ROCK! Elmo toy is a rockin' singing' delight. Dressed in his own concert-style t-shirt, you choose which instrument Elmo plays, and he magically recognizes which one you give him. He even interacts with the other LET'S ROCK! Instruments (each sold separately). Elmo can tell when you are playing the LET'S ROCK! Guitar, Keyboard or Microphone--and he plays along with you! This toy set is ideal for kids from 18-months to 4-years old.

Don't forget that the Let's rock instruments are sold separately. There is a Let's Rock Elmo guitar, Let's Rock Cookie Monster Keyboard and a Let's Rock Elmo Microphone!Mattel The Sing-A-Ma-Jigs - Midnight

Matell Sing-a- majig, I don't know whether I like this, or hate it. My husband thinks its awesome, my kids laugh like crazy, I can't help to think that its annoying but in a silly way. So I had to put it on the list for this year. I think I'll grab one for a stocking stuffer, or maybe for neices and nephews to drive their parents nuts.

I'll finish my list with a must have for every boy. Action figures, I couldn't find a set of Batman, Superman and Spiderman...we all know those are the must haves. So I thought this is the next best thing when you factor in price and durability, the Marvel Superhero Squad Mini Figure 7pack. You get Dr. Doom Volcana, Reptil, Falcon, Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man and Dr. Doom. Although you and I don't know who most of these are, your little dude probably does, and if he doesn't, Im sure daddy will let him know.

Of course there are a million other things to put on the list:
Anything by Crayola
Books
Movies
Video games
remote controlled cars and helicopters
skateboard
bike
drums
guitar
the list can go on and on and on and on and on :-)

This is just a list that I put together, thinking of price and durability. Every person is going to have a different opion of what should or shouldn't be on the list. I know there was plenty that I forgot, but I think for ages 5 and under, it's a pretty awesome list!

Dangerous Book for Boys!

Christmas Present Idea for Boys of Any Age!!!!

Before I was even pregnant with our first my husband saw this book in Target and had to buy it. It's full of everything boy! We knew we would have a boy one day so it was a good investment. Little did we know, we would have 2 boys and I could only dream pink. Good thing I didn't buy the girl version of this book, it would still be collecting dust. Our oldest is now going on 3 (where has time gone?) and I was thinking the other day that its time to break out that book. It's time that my husband and our oldest sit down and do some of the more simple things in the book. Paper airplanes being first on the list. What child and father doesn't love paper airplanes? I think even our almost 1 year old would love watching the planes fly, and then he would try to eat them. It's a book that they can use until your son/sons move out, and even then pass it on to grandsons! The book has everything in it, it's a perfect gift for a husband and his son/sons. Plus its under $20 so its afforable for any budget! There is also The Boy Book of Survival, For Boys Only The Biggest Baddest Book Ever, and The Boys Book How to Be the Best at Everything. There are girls books to, but in my home, boys have taken over so no need for me to dream right now.

Google Product Review Says this about the book:
The bestselling book for every boy from eight to eighty, covering essential boyhood skills such as building tree houses, learning how to fish, finding true north, and even answering the age old question of what the big deal with girls is. In this digital age there is still a place for knots, skimming stones and stories of incredible courage. This book recaptures Sunday afternoons, stimulates curiosity, and makes for great father-son activities. The brothers Conn and Hal have put together a wonderful collection of all things that make being young or young at heart fun—building go-carts and electromagnets, identifying insects and spiders, and flying the world's best paper airplanes.
